An unexpected natural effervescence lets you see it working while you shave. Perfect size for travel.

What makes Thrive awesome?

A potent blend of medicinal plants from Costa Rica that actually work. These active ingredients are unique to Thrive's products, and help restore the vitality of a man's skin.

  • Fierrillo: A rainforest vine, pronounced fee-er-REE-yo, has potent anti-microbial and anti-inflammatory properties. It has been used for centuries by indigenous peoples to control skin infections & inflammation.
  • Juanilama: Essential oils of this versatile tropical herb, pronounced whahn-ee-LA-ma, are used to treat skin abrasions and a wide range of ailments. It's a strong natural antioxidant and has a fresh, masculine fragrance.

Company Mission:

Thrive's mission is to leave people and the planet healthier than we found them. Born in Costa Rica, raised in San Francisco. We think guys can do better than the stuff that dominates the market for men's grooming. Something without synthetics that restores skin naturally. Something with real personality. So we traveled to an amazing place-the rainforests and family farms of Costa Rica-to source the highest quality, sustainablyharvested botanical ingredients for superior face care. With rural farmers and leading scientists, Thrive is establishing a restorative rainforest garden on lands degraded by clear cuts and industrial agriculture. Without any chemical inputs, these gardens will renew the damaged soil and provide a steady supply of magical plants for Thrive products. Thrive's projects in Costa Rica are an investment in a restorative way of life. They go way beyond organic and fair trade standards to create a healthy and thriving economy.

Great shave and perfect for travel
I've been using the oil for over a week and it's by far the best shaving experience I've ever had. I was skeptic about using an oil at first since I've always used foam, but the promise of medicinal plants protecting my skin while shaving was too tempting. It foams a little during the application with made my transition from life-long foam guys easer. My skin looks visibly hydrated after washing the oil off and I'm getting fewer razor bumps. And the oil is extending the life of my razor blades for a few extra days!

Unique Shave Oil
After using a shave oil, I will never use a soap-based shave cream again. It forms a nice foam when applied to a wet face. Shave is closer than anything I've used before even with a fairly dull blade that I was using. It seems to cause a tingling sensation when you put it on which I assume is one of the herbal ingredients. It takes some getting used to, but I now like the sensation. I expected an oily after-feel, but it rinses off like a light soap. Fragrance is amazing - I wish they would make a cologne from it.
