At a time when health care costs are rising and employer-provided coverage is shrinking, Pharmaca is happy to be your everyday health resource. We provide easy access to credentialed pharmacists, naturopathic doctors, nutritionists, herbalists and more so you can achieve good health without an appointment, insurance or headache.
Since 2000, Pharmaca Integrative Pharmacy has offered traditional pharmacy services alongside holistic remedies so customers can choose how they want to approach their health care (learn more about our history). Our staff of certified practitioners helps guide customers through our selection of over-the-counter medications, alternative remedies, and natural cosmetics and body care products for a stress-free shopping experience.
What makes a pharmacy a Pharmaca?
Pharmaca offers a full-service pharmacy, your same insurance co-pay and a stress-free environment.
When you have health questions, just ask the nearest team member. They are licensed in fields like nutrition, skin care, homeopathy, naturopathy, herbal studies and more.
Professional Grade Supplements
We carry brands like Metagenics and Pure Encapsulation which are meant to be sold only with professional health advice.
Our shelves are stocked with the highest quality brands available like Jurlique, Jane Iredale, Dr. Hauschka and many other Compact for Safe Cosmetics signers.
Pharmaca carries competitively priced health essentials like aspirin and bandages in addition to alternative solutions.
We believe that personal health is connected to environmental health. We ensure our stores are environmentally friendly by buying wind power offsets, installing recycled carpet and offering organic and sustainably harvested products.
Pharmaca Integrative Pharmacy was founded in Boulder, Colo. in 2000. For nearly two years, a small staff worked out of the back room of Pharmaca’s first store in Boulder’s Ideal Market Shopping Center, growing this new concept from the ground up. Before long, Pharmaca’s integrative approach was changing the way people thought about going to the pharmacy. Customers came to discover new treatment options, develop relationships with our practitioners and appreciate the free cup of warm tea offered when they dropped off a prescription.
By the end of our first two years in business, Pharmaca had opened eight stores in four states. Today, our stores are still introducing people to alternative treatments and preventive medicine on a daily basis. We continue to search for the best new products and educate customers about the latest health information. But we remain true to our founding principles: We still believe in setting a higher standard for pharmacies in terms of service, selection, and sustainability.
Mission & values
We take care of ourselves and are responsible for our own growth and wellbeing. Our productivity is extraordinary because we enliven our work with passion, creativity and presence.
We trust, respect, and support every team member and work as one team. The synergy of our efforts makes work a place of delight, creativity and fulfillment.
Our profitability is the collective responsibility of all team members. It ensures the continuing wellness of our customers, and rewards our team members and all stakeholders fairly.
Our customers know they are our top priority. We exceed expectations by listening carefully and building caring relationships.
We are known for our dedication to the wellness of our customers and communities, both locally and globally.
As we grow, we continually pursue new opportunities to restore and support the health and wellbeing of all living things.
Pharmaca strives to improve the health of its communities by broadening the scope of preventive and treatment options available to the public. We also extend our core values beyond the boundaries of the store, helping to make the world a healthier place for everyone.
We use sustainable materials in the construction of our stores, including recycled carpet tiles, bamboo flooring, energy-efficient lighting and low-VOC paint.
Our product selection includes eco-conscious brands such as Tom’s of Maine, Sigg and Seventh Generation.
We offer bag credits for customers who bring in reusable bags, and provide biodegradable ones for others.
Our store signage and marketing materials are printed on recycled paper with soy inks whenever possible.
We encourage electronic communications to reduce paper, sending information-packed weekly newsletters—WellMail—via e-mail, and offering Feel Better Rewards customers their rewards electronically.
We carry products from companies that have signed the Campaign for Safe Cosmetics, knowing that what goes on the skin goes into the body, and what comes out of the bottle goes down the drain.
