Several Pharmaca stores are still offering seasonal influenza and pneumonia shots at scheduled times. No appointments are necessary for this service. Preservative-free vaccinations are available by request. Flu shots cost $30 and pneumonia vaccinations cost $50 each.*
The National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases at the National Institutes of Health has developed a vaccine for the H1N1 virus. Clinical trials have shown it has generated a good response in study subjects and can be combined with the seasonal flu vaccine. Pharmaca will schedule future H1N1 flu shot clinics based on vaccine availability. Currently, there is a shortage of this vaccine, so please check back for updates.
