About Kneipp

Kneipp was founded in 1891 by Sebastian Kneipp (1821-1897), a naturopath and priest. At the age of 28, Kneipp cured himself of a severe case of tuberculosis—a disease that was usually fatal at that time. Kneipp had come across an 18th-century book about hydrotherapy that motivated him to immerse himself several times a week in the icy Danube River. These brief exposures to cold water seemed to bolster his immune system. His tuberculosis went into remission, inspiring him to dedicate the rest of his long life to harnessing the healing power of water combined with plants and herbs.

In his approach, Sebastian Kneipp considered the elements of water, plants, exercise, nutrition and balance to be closely linked, and united them in a holistic life philosophy. They are known as “The Five Pillars.”

Since 1891, Kneipp has manufactured contemporary products for health and wellbeing. Botanical competence, pharmaceutical experience, state-of the-art production techniques and carefully conducted scientific checks ensure product quality, which has been proven for generations.

“Nature has provided us generously with everything we need to remain in good health”

Kneipp Product Information

Kneipp Herbal Baths

Kneipp Herbal Baths

Kneipp's Herbal Baths contain beneficial levels of quality plant-derived essential oils, each chosen to enhance body and mind. Plant and herbal-based formulas promote the healthful benefits of nature, restoring and maintaining wellbeing, naturally. Kneipp‘s skin-friendly, highly concentrated bath oils contain up to 37.5 percent essential oils—a major source of relaxation and wellbeing.

Kneipp Mineral Bath Salt

Kneipp Bath Salt

Kneipp's Mineral Bath Salt comes from an ancient underground salt water sea in central Germany—the last remaining salt works in Europe. Extracted using traditional pan-boiling methods, the salt crystals are removed from the thermal brine by heating it in large pans, allowing the liquid to evaporate naturally. The resulting crystals that form naturally absorb the essential oils until released into a warm steamy bath. The crystals are free from chemical additives and environmental pollutants. Kneipp's Mineral Bath Salt is naturally very high in trace minerals such as magnesium, calcium and zinc, which are absorbed by the body while soaking in your tub.

Kneipp Body Wash

Kneipp Body Wash

Gently cleanse and naturally deodorize while plant-derived essential oils help unwind your mind and relax your senses. Kneipp's aromatherapeutic Body Washes are designed to gently foam, soothe the skin and create a calm, de-stressed experience. These plant-based formulas leave skin feeling soft, clean and refreshed.

Kneipp Body & Massage Oils

Kneipp Body Wash

Kneipp's natural body and massage oils are high in important vitamins A & E, which nourish the skin, leaving it soft, smooth and luxuriously supple. Natural oils contain essential fatty acids that penetrate deeply, leaving skin feeling soft and smooth as the skin absorbs and utilizes the vitamins and essential oils contained within. Kneipp utilizes cold-pressed oils to retain a high volume of natural vitamins and antioxidants, as they are given to us from nature.

Kneipp Body Lotions

Kneipp Body Wash

Kneipp's Body Lotions, suitable for all skin types, contain carefully selected aromatherapeutic plant and herbal essential oils combined with highly beneficial vitamins A & E and emollient skin-pampering oils to moisturize skin and prevent premature skin aging. The non-greasy, quick-absorbing formulations are an excellent solution for daily use.

Kneipp Arnica

Kneipp Body Wash

Relieve and soothe symptoms of your active lifestyle with arnica, Sebastian Kneipp’s medicinal plant of choice. Arnica, also known as the “mountain daisy,” has traditionally been used by Europeans and Native Americans as a natural remedy for sprains, bruises and wounds. It is a natural astringent, and has been known to benefit circulation. It is commonly used today to soothe insect bites, relieve stiffness from flying or long drives, soothe swollen feet and ankles after exercise or sports injuries, and to help prevent bruising and pain before and after surgery.
