Barry Perzow, Co-Founder, CEO, Chairman - Pharmaca Integrative Pharmacy - Barry Perzow has over 40 years of broad experience in retailing in the U.S., in his native Canada and in Europe. Prior to co-founding Pharmaca Integrative Pharmacy in Boulder in November, 2000, Perzow was President of Capers Natural Food Markets. At Capers, he expanded a single store concept in West Vancouver to three large-format supermarkets and two natural restaurants, becoming Canada's most innovative and leading natural health retailer. In 1996, Capers merged with Alfalfas Markets of Colorado. In 1997, Wild Oats Community Markets acquired the Company and Perzow was responsible for managing the post-merger integration.
     In his earlier career, Perzow was President and General Manager of Oshawa Groups Hypermarket Mega-Store Food Division, developing 100,000 sq. ft. stores, based on a European model, throughout Ontario and Quebec. Prior to that he developed, owned and operated a seven-store chain of specialty supermarkets which were acquired by the Oshawa Group and converted into a 110-store IGA operation in Quebec under Perzow's leadership.
     Perzow's vision was to reinvent the neighborhood pharmacy by combining prescription and natural medicines under one roof with qualified practitioners who are able to address the full spectrum of health and wellness issues. He calls it Integrative Pharmacy.
     Perzow, and his founding partner, Dale Schwartz, were selected as the 2005 Ernst & Young Entrepreneurs of the Year for the Rocky Mountain region in the Retail and Manufacturing category. Perzow was recently named 2006 Esprit Entrepreneur, the Boulder Chamber of Commerce award for "having a concept for a business which includes vision fraught with risk and that incorporates a special sense of creativity." This Boulder award of distinction will be presented on October 24, 2006.

Steve Davis, Senior Vice President of Merchandising, Sales and Operations – Mr. Davis brings to Pharmaca over 25 years experience in the food, drug and natural products industry. Most recently employed as Vice President of Holistic Health at Wild Oats Markets, Inc, he knows intimately the importance of educating customers and staff about the benefits of natural and alternative medicines. Davis developed and implemented a new “Holistic Health” in-store concept at Wild Oats that re-defined the department to emphasize education as the basis for promoting and selling supplements, whole body and general merchandise. Coupled with a new store prototype, Davis’ innovative approach revolutionized the company’s go-to-market strategy within the natural products channel. Throughout his accomplished career, Davis has excelled in top management positions at organizations including Wild Oats Markets Inc, Giant Food Stores LLC, Tops Markets LLC, Finast Supermarkets LLC, and Jewel/Osco. He has had a long and successful career in running pharmacy operations for several major chains as well as being deeply rooted in retailing, both conventional and natural. He holds a BS in Marketing from Illinois State University, Normal, Illinois, and has completed an executive MBA curriculum at Babson University, Babson Park, Massachusetts.

Janet Mathews, Chief Financial Officer – Ms. Mathews has more than 20 years of diversified financial and business management experience with publicly-traded and private companies in the retail, Internet and direct mail, hospitality, manufacturing and construction sectors. She spent the last ten years at Gaiam, Inc., as their Chief Financial and Administrative Officer and VP of Business Development, where she participated in building the company from a start-up to a $200 million business and successfully completed their initial public offering and secondary offerings. Prior to Gaiam, she served as Principal Financial Officer, Controller and Director of Operations at Seventh Generation, Inc., in Burlington, Vermont, completing their IPO in 1993, and has also held financial and business management positions in the resort industry and with Ingersoll-Rand in the manufacturing sector. Ms. Mathews has served on several boards of directors and served on the State of Vermont Small Business Development Authority. Ms. Mathews received her B.S. degree in business administration from the University of Nevada.

Nancy Hoopes, Vice President, Human Resources and Administration - Ms. Hoopes has over twenty years of human resources management experience in the restaurant, natural foods, supplements and hi-tech industries. She has directed the training, recruiting, compensation and other human resource programs for two Fortune 500 companies. From 1996-2000, she was Vice President of Human Resources for Whole People and Amrion, Inc., a nutritional supplement manufacturer, and division of Whole Foods Market. Prior to that, she served as Director of Human Resources for CareerTrack Training and Vicorp Restaurants. She holds a degree in political science from the University of Colorado and a masters in business administration in finance and accounting from Regis University. Ms. Hoopes also holds the certification of Senior Professional in Human Resources.

Don Summerfield, Vice President of Integrative Medicine - Mr. Summerfield has significant experience in the retail natural pharmacy and herbal medicine fields. From 1998 to October 2000, he served as president of Finlandia Natural Pharmacy, Vancouver, British Columbia (BC), Canada's oldest and largest natural pharmacy. Previously, Mr. Summerfield spent five years with Capers Whole Food Markets, Vancouver, BC, as merchandising director. From 1990-1993, he was store manager for Finlandia Natural Pharmacy, having first started as a staff herbalist. Mr. Summerfield was an instructor with the Vancouver School Board and Wild Rose College of Natural Healing, Vancouver. He has a bachelor of arts in ethics and commerce from the University of Windsor, Ontario, and received his training in herbal medicine through the Wild Rose College of Natural Healing, Dominion Herbal College, Vancouver, and the California School of Herbal Studies, Forestville, CA.

Christopher Turf, R.Ph. , Director of Integrative Pharmacy - Chris Turf brings nearly 20 years of pharmaceutical experience to Pharmaca Integrative Pharmacy. He received his degree at the University of Colorado in Boulder, where he was awarded the University of Colorado Clinical Pharmacist award. Mr. Turf continued his education at the Professional Compounding Center of America (PCCA) where he was trained in prescription compounding. Mr. Turf's background also includes studies in herbal medicine, nutrition and homeopathy. The greater part of Chris Turf's pharmacy experience has been in community pharmacy, but he has also managed a home infusion pharmacy. He joined Pharmaca Integrative Pharmacy March of 2001. Chris offers Pharmaca a wealth of experience in the areas of integrative medicine and pharmacy operations, and he believes that the integrative model is the future of medicine.

Ian Mukaida, VP Store Development - Mr. Mukaida has over twenty years experience in the retail/wholesale food and food services industries. From 1985 to 1993, he worked as a retail category manager for the western Canada division of Loblaw Companies, Canada's largest food retailer and distributor. From 1994 to 1997 he entered the natural products industry as the grocery merchandising manager for Capers, Canada's leading natural foods retailer. He has also served as a consultant for the natural products industry in both the wholesale distribution and retail sectors before joining Pharmaca in the fall of 2001. He attended Simon Fraser University and also received a diploma from the Dubrulle French Culinary School in Vancouver, BC.

Craig Greenlaw, Director of Real Estate/Acquisitions - Mr. Greenlaw has more than 20 years experience in commercial real estate brokerage/development and is a licensed Real Estate Broker in the state of Colorado. He is responsible for overseeing real estate development, business acquisition and implementing new market strategies for Pharmaca's expansion plans. Prior to joining Pharmaca, Mr. Greenlaw specialized in development of small retail and industrial projects as a principle with Preferred Development Partners. He also spent a combined ten years with Panda Restaurant Group and Hollywood Entertainment Corporation where he was an integral part of both companies aggressive growth in the Rocky Mountain and Midwestern regions. Mr. Greenlaw started his career at CB Richard Ellis (formerly Coldwell Banker Commercial) during 1984 in North San Diego County and relocated to Denver in 1994. A native of southern California, Mr. Greenlaw holds a bachelor's degree in environmental studies from the University of California, Santa Barbara.

Fred Beck, Director of Information Technology – Mr. Beck has over 25 years of experience at all phases of Information Technology and has been a Director and / or Vice President of Information Technology for start-up and mid-sized corporations preparing for high growth or IPO for the past 10 years. He is responsible for Pharmaca’s retail and pharmacy systems and infrastructure. Prior to working at Pharmaca, Mr. Beck was the Director of IT for McDATA, Corp. and VP of Business Systems for WholePeople.com, a wholly owned subsidiary of WholeFoods Market, (formerly Amrion). Mr. Beck received his MBA in Finance from the University of Tulsa and his BS/BA in Accounting and Information Technology from the University of Southern Colorado. Mr. Beck also holds a CPA license in the state of Oklahoma.
