Jill D., BS Pharm., Pharmacy Manager
Jill has practiced pharmacy in a community setting for more than 20 years. She received her degree in pharmacy from the University of North Carolina - Chapel Hill before moving to California. She has worked as both a pharmacy manager and as a staff pharmacist in local retail settings. Her most recent experience includes a focus on treatment of immuno-compromised patients. Jill is excited to join the staff at Pharmaca and broaden her knowledge in integrative care.

Elena L., Pharm.D.
Elena graduated from the University of California San Francisco's pharmacy school and completed a pharmacy residency at the VA Medical Center in San Francisco. She began her career in the East Bay as a retail pharmacist. She later worked at Kaiser Permanente, initially at the Anticoagulation Clinic, managing patients' Warfarin therapy, and then in the hospital as an outpatient pharmacist. Elena is interested in holistic health and is excited to be at Pharmaca.

Nathen G., ND, MA, Lead Practitioner
Nathen is a Bastyr University-clinically trained physician and JFK University-trained health educator who specializes in nutraceuticals, stress reduction, personal training and counseling psychology. He has cultivated a 30-year daily yoga meditation practice, as well as a lifelong personal focus on optimal wellbeing. Singing, playing guitar, gardening, world travel and shamanic journeying are some of his favorite activities. Carrie A., M.A.
Carrie earned a Master’s Degree in Integrative Health Studies from the California Institute of Integral Studies in San Francisco in 2006. Prior to this she completed a one-year program in Western Herbalism at the Rocky Mountain Center of Botanical Studies in Boulder, Colo. She enjoys sharing her knowledge of and experience with the many benefits of medicinal plants. Most recently, she served as Clinic Coordinator at Charlotte Maxwell Complementary Clinic, a state-licensed free clinic for underserved women with cancer. Here she gained valuable experience assisting clients in the midst of cancer treatments and managing volunteers. She joined Pharmaca in July 2010 and takes pride in contributing to the overall health of the community.

Rosalia M., Herbalist 
Rosalia has more than 20 years experience in the wellness field. She has experience in live blood analysis, as well as training in cell biology from Johns Hopkins. She trained in Harmonic Resolution Therapy and has a BSW, MPH and MCP from UC - Berkeley, a Master Herbalist degree from Trinity College of Health and a Doctorate in Naturopathic Medicine. She is a Traditional Naturopath. Her areas of interest are maternal and pediatric health, neurological and pathogen-driven imbalances, and peak performance.

Kurt B., Wellness Counselor 
Kurt has a unique background in traditional and classical Chinese herbs with a focus on Chinese herbs and qi gong as well as structural bodywork. His training in Chinese medicine consisted of a six-year traditional apprenticeship in Petaluma, Calif., and he has studied bodywork modalities in the US and in China. Kurt is currently practicing in the Bay Area. He has interest in music, internal martial arts, the healing arts and nature.

Janet N., M.S., L.Ac., Acupuncturist, Cosmetologist
Janet holds licenses in Acupuncture, Traditional Chinese Medicine, and Cosmetology. A veteran of the health and beauty industry, she specializes in age-management medicine, Facial Rejuvenation Acupuncture and functional medicine. She is a contributing author of a physician’s dermatology textbook.

Tami A., Wellness Counselor
Tami has more than 10 years experience in the nutrition and supplement industry. She is also a bodyworker specializing in her own brand of nurturing somatic therapy. She is passionate about enzymes, adrenal support herbs and immune support supplements. On her own time she loves eating chocolate, walking with her husband and reading novels as well as books about human brain chemistry and function.

Melissa B., Wellness Counselor 
Melissa was first drawn to natural therapies in 1988 out of a desire to find healthy alternatives to Western asthma medications. She began volunteering at her local health food cooperative, where she discovered her lifelong passion for holistic healing and eco-friendly living. She brings 24 years retail experience in a variety of herb and health food stores, and possesses in-depth knowledge of diverse Eastern and Western healing modalities, including Nutrition, Herbology, Flower Essence Therapy, Homeopathy, Aromatherapy, Chinese Energetic Medicine and natural skincare. She also holds a Master’s Degree in Sustainable Enterprise from Dominican University.
