Farnoosh F., Pharm.D., Pharmacy Manager
Farnoosh comes to the Brentwood Pharmaca after having joined the company in June of 2007. She previously worked in chain retail pharmacy and performed pharmaceutical research involving pain management and thyroid conditions. She has received additional training in pharmacognosy, the study of medicines from herbal sources. Farnoosh has also served as an auditor of pharmaceutical company manufacturing practices and has published papers in medical journals.

Cynthia is a California native and received her Doctorate of Pharmacy from the University of Southern California. Since her teen years she has been employed in a variety of pharmaceutical settings and now has 30 years of pharmacy experience. She has fulfilled her dream of owning and operating a holistic pharmacy, and here at Pharmaca she is continuing her passion for integrative medicine, treating customers like family and offering personalized assistance in meeting customers' wellness goals. For her own personal and professional growth, she would like to practice Ayurvedic medicine in the future!

Melissa brings a diverse background to Pharmaca with experience in compounding, clinical pediatrics and medication safety. Melissa received her Doctorate of Pharmacy from UC - San Francisco and completed a specialty residency in pediatrics at Rady Children's Hospital in San Diego. Melissa's current passion is learning more about an integrative approach to health and wellness and sharing that approach with her customers!

Stephanie received her Bachelor of Science degree in Biology and History in 2001 from the University of New Mexico. She then earned her Pharm.D from the College of Pharmacy at UNM in 2007 and has worked in a retail setting ever since. Stephanie has lived in New Mexico her whole life, and she's excited to be at Pharmaca as it exposes her to more approaches to health care, allowing her to better serve her customers.

Vicky earned her degree in pharmacy at the University of British Columbia in Vancouver, Canada and has been a pharmacist for more than 10 years. As a health practitioner, she is devoted to a holistic approach in living and wellness. She has training in medication therapy management, smoking cessation and immunizations, and is currently pursuing her Chartered Herbalist certification with Dominion Herbal College.

She has been in community pharmacy practice for over 20 years both in the east and west coasts and has been working in West Seattle for over 5 years. She is also a strong advocate of the integrative approach to both preventing and treating ailments. She enjoys providing advice and consultation on pharmaceutical and alternative medicine.

Smita S., R.Ph., Pharmacy Manager
Smita is a graduate of Northeastern University in Boston, MA and has been practicing pharmacy for nearly 10 years. At Pharmaca, she's expanded her focus to compounding medications as well as advising on alternative treatments that can be taken in conjunction with prescriptions. Her alternative medication training has largely focused on Ayurvedic practices, but since joining Pharmaca in 2002, it has expanded to homeopathy and other herbal remedies. She is also an on-going educator for pharmacy students at local universities and often works together with local practitioners on bioidentical hormone replacement therapy.

Gloria S., R.Ph, Pharmacy Manager
Gloria graduated from Arnold & Marie Schwartz College of Pharmacy in New York in 1999. She previously owned a private pharmacy in New York, which specialized in traditional pharmaceuticals as well as herbs. In 2005 Gloria sold the pharmacy, moved to Los Angeles and became certified in compounding and bioidentical hormones. She has since worked as a compounding pharmacy manager at a private store and with cosmeceuticals, homeopathy and herbs. Gloria is happy to be bringing her compounding experience to Pharmaca and enjoys counseling female customers on balancing their hormones.

Kim Jacoby, Pharm.D., CGP, CPCC, Pharmacy Manager
Kim received her Doctorate of Pharmacy at Idaho State University. She has lived in the Bay Area for nine years with a brief stint in New York City and an amazing year of world travels. With more than 10 years of experience, she has seen the many faces of pharmacy: an inpatient hospital setting at John Muir Medical Center; an integrative community setting at Elephant Pharmacy; and as a consultant for Skilled Nursing Facilities in NYC. Her expertise is in Medication Therapy Management (MTM) and Geriatrics. Kim has also obtained certifications as a Life Coach (2009) and as a board-certified Geriatric Pharmacist (2007). She is passionate about helping people on their journeys of wellness and fulfillment.

James earned his Bachelors of Pharmacy in 1999 from Oregon State University, and was previously a pharmacy manager at Pharmaca between 2002-2005. James has worked for Kaiser Permanente, owned a pharmacist relief agency and also helped in consulting with pharmacy operations with variety of pharmacy settings (retail, long-term, mail-order). Most recently James attended the National College of Naturopathic Medicine in naturopathic studies. James is very interested in both compounding and natural healing combined with nutrition and exercise.

Alan brings more than 20 years of experience to Pharmaca. He earned his degree in Pharmacy from the University of Colorado - Boulder in 1992. He interned and rose in ranks of pharmacist and pharmacy manager during his 14-year tenure at King Soopers. He also has worked many years in a hospital setting. He is Geriatric and Immunization Administration Certified, as well as CPR and BLS certified. He is also a consultant with Colorado State Medicaid. Alan loves to interact with all people.
