David Maher joins Pharmaca Integrative Pharmacy board of directors
Pharmacist and retailer brings valuable expertise to growing company


BOULDER, Colo. (April 7, 2008) – Pharmaca Integrative Pharmacy has appointed David Maher, former vice chairman and Chief Operating Officer for American Stores Co. (which operated 1,700 locations under the Osco and Sav-on brands, among others) to its board of directors. Maher will use his extensive retail and leadership experience to help direct Pharmaca’s expansion of its integrative pharmacy concept. The retail pharmacy chain plans to add 12 stores a year to its current 21-store base.

Maher brings 35 years of experience in the retail and health care industries. After graduating from the University of Iowa’s pharmacy program, Maher began his career as a retail pharmacist in 1963. Since then, he has been recognized as Retailer of the Year by the Institute of Retail Management at California State University, Chain Drug Retailer of the Year by Chain Drug Review, and was awarded the Arnold and Marie Schwartz Retail Drug Institute Man of the Year.

Currently, Maher serves as chairman of the board of trustees for the Massachusetts College of Pharmacy and Allied Health Sciences and sits on the advisory board for the University of Iowa’s College of Pharmacy. He is the founder, chairman and general partner for DMM Enterprises LLP, an asset management company located in Beverly, Mass. Maher resides in Salt Lake City, Utah.
