Smita S., R.Ph., Pharmacy Manager
Smita is a graduate of Northeastern University in Boston, MA and has been practicing pharmacy for nearly 10 years. At Pharmaca, she's expanded her focus to compounding medications as well as advising on alternative treatments that can be taken in conjunction with prescriptions. Her alternative medication training has largely focused on Ayurvedic practices, but since joining Pharmaca in 2002, it has expanded to homeopathy and other herbal remedies. She is also an on-going educator for pharmacy students at local universities and often works together with local practitioners on bioidentical hormone replacement therapy.

Melissa G., Naturopath, Lead Practitioner
Melissa is a naturopath with a private practice in the East Bay. She received her medical degree from Southwest College of Naturopathic Medicine, and has advanced training in classical homeopathy and detoxification/cleansing. She utilizes homeopathy, clinical nutrition, herbal medicine and lifestyle counseling to help her patients attain optimal wellness. She has a special interest in digestive disorders, mood disorders and immune conditions. She believes in an integrative approach to health care that combines both alternative and conventional medicine.

Courtney G., B.A., N.E., Assistant Manager
Courtney has developed her passion for integrative health and nutrition through many years of hands-on experience at varying health food stores, and through her education at San Francisco State University, where she received a specialized degree in Behavioral Health. As a recently certified Nutrition Educator, Courtney looks forward to the continued opportunity to educate both Pharmaca staff and customers.

Anna K

Anna K., Certified Herbalist
Anna is an herbalist with a private practice in San Francisco focusing on herbal medicine and other natural remedies. She attributes her eclectic herbal blend/brew to studies in various healing modalities including herbalism, shiatsu and energy work as well as years in herbal retail. She has enriched her knowledge through studies and teaching at the Ohlone Herbal Center and the California School of Herbal Studies, as well as volunteer work at the SF Charlotte Maxwell Complementary Clinic for low-income women with cancer. She loves to educate customers to empower themselves in their own healing.

Caitlin B

Caitlin B., Health Practitioner
Caitlin holds a BA in Women’s Studies from the University of New Hampshire and is a certified holistic health practitioner from the Natural Healing Institute of Naturopathy. Caitlin is excited to join the Pharmaca team and looks forward to her continued work in the field of complementary medicine.
